Wike Mocks Atiku Over Party Hopping: "If I Were His Son, I’d Advise Him"
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, mocking his frequent political party switches in pursuit of the presidency.
During a recent public event, Wike sarcastically remarked, “If I were his son, I’d advise him”, implying that Atiku’s repeated moves between parties reflect desperation rather than principle. Atiku, who has contested for president multiple times under different parties, including PDP and APC, has often faced criticism for his political flexibility.
Wike, a prominent PDP figure before his fallout with the party’s leadership, has not shied away from attacking his former allies. His latest jab adds to the ongoing tension between him and Atiku’s camp.
Political analysts suggest Wike’s comments may further deepen divisions within the opposition, while Atiku’s supporters dismiss the remarks as mere provocation.
As the 2027 elections draw closer, Nigeria’s political landscape remains as volatile as ever.
