Kirikiri Customs Command Generates ₦89.2 Billion in First Half of 2025
The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Customs Command of the Nigeria Customs Service announced it collected ₦89.2 billion in revenue between January and June 2025.
The figure builds on the command’s strong first-quarter performance. Comptroller Joy Edelduok revealed in April that the command generated ₦38.1 billion between January and March—a 61 percent rise from the ₦23.7 billion recorded in the same quarter of 2024, representing an increase of ₦14.4 billion. She attributed the growth to improved revenue collection strategies and the dedication of officers in curbing smuggling and illicit trade.
Edelduok also confirmed the seizure of nine 40-foot containers filled with expired pharmaceutical products, seized in line with the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023. The confiscated drugs were handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for proper regulatory action.
